Hi, my name is Joe Klancnik (pron: Klan-snik). I'm an active instructor with over two decades of experience coaching baseball and softball athletes. I’ve seamlessly integrated the knowledge gained from my professional and Division 1 collegiate baseball careers with a distinctive ability to connect with ballplayers of all ages and skill levels.

    As Coach Joe On The Go, I offer personalized, professional baseball and softball instruction throughout the Chicago area, year-round. Leveraging decades of experience, I founded the business in 2014. I set myself apart by bringing high-quality coaching directly to the customer, at a convenient outdoor field location (weather permitting, April through October). Parents need only provide an eager, properly outfitted ballplayer; I take care of the rest, including the driving!

    I was always an overpowering thrower, but during much of my time as a pitcher, I struggled with accuracy. It was years after I left affiliated professional baseball that I finally put it all together, but I missed my opportunity for the Major Leagues. Regardless, I still had two successful seasons playing professional baseball with the Schaumburg Flyers and continue to play in the Chicago area men’s baseball leagues.

    I can provide instruction in all aspects of the game, help coaches refine drills, and optimize practice time; however, my expertise lies in optimal overhand throwing mechanics. I’m convinced ballplayers can be developed to throw with both power and accuracy. I quickly identify form and mechanical flaws in developing ballplayers - flaws often overlooked completely or barely addressed, but which could lead to injury if ignored.

    A mission of mine, especially for young ballplayers, is to reduce their learning curve and skip the frustration I experienced.

Guiding ball players of all ages to reach their full potential, while ensuring their development is safe and sustainable, is the goal. My greatest reward is witnessing increased confidence, empowered contributions to the team, and a gained competitive edge.
