Hi, my name is Joe Klancnik (pron: Klan-snik) and thank you for visiting my website! I'm an active baseball and softball instructor in the Chicagoland area with over 20 years of experience coaching youth baseball and softball athletes.
I have been able to combine my knowledge from a high-level college and professional baseball background seamlessly with my unique ability to relate from, very young ballplayers just learning the game, to adults who wish to continue to play. I also get great satisfaction helping the often underserved numbers of challenged individuals dealing with motor control or attention issues.
During much of my time as a pitcher, I was an overpowering thrower often struggling with accuracy. It was years after I left affiliated professional baseball that I finally put it all together, but I had missed that small window for the Big Leagues. Regardless, I've had great success and years of fun pitching into my 50's playing in the Chicago area semi-pro leagues with two successful seasons playing with the Schaumburg Flyers in Independent baseball.
My expertise is in optimum overhand throwing mechanics. I believe ballplayers hoping to throw with power and with accuracy, can be developed. In fact, a mission of mine is to help young ballplayers skip the frustration I experienced.
I can quickly identify flaws in developing ballplayers in all aspects of the game - flaws often overlooked or barely addressed but which could lead to injury. My goal is to assist young ballplayers to perform the best that they can with proper mechanics and form- safe for their developing bodies. They'll have an edge over the competition, realize greater confidence, and you'll see... more smiles!
I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I waited for an opportunity I believed would set me apart from the rest. So, in 2014, I started, COACH JOE ON THE GO!
Simply... when weather permits during the months of April through October, I offer my professional instruction at a ball field near you! If you're a parent, you supply an eager ballplayer properly outfitted and I do the driving! Whether you have a child beginning on their path in baseball or softball, if your more-experienced ballplayer needs some tweaks or a quick-fixing, or if you wish to better your game in an adult league, please contact me for private lessons. Thank you!
